2025 A Year In Reflection

2025 was not a year of shortcuts or instant wins. It was a year of showing up, repeatedly, even when progress felt slow, uncertain, or invisible from the outside.

Looking back, the year can be summed up in three big themes: community, persistence, and momentum.

Showing Up: Meetups and Community

One of the most grounding parts of this year was reconnecting with people through meetups. Whether it was social, technical, or professional, getting out of my own head and into shared spaces mattered more than I expected.

Meetups weren’t just about networking or ticking a box. They were about:

• Rebuilding confidence
• Sharing experiences with people on similar paths
• Being reminded that everyone is figuring things out as they go

In a year that often felt isolating, these moments of connection helped keep perspective and motivation alive.

The Grind Behind the Scenes: Cover Letters & Applications

A large part of 2025 happened quietly, behind a laptop screen.

Cover letters rewritten countless times. CVs tweaked for different roles. Applications sent, tracked, followed up… and often met with silence.

It was repetitive. Sometimes draining. Occasionally discouraging.

But it was also where discipline was built. Each application sharpened my understanding of:

• What I actually want to work on
• How to articulate my experience and value
• Where my skills truly fit, and where they don’t

The process wasn’t wasted effort. It was refinement.
